    Does dog need to be tested for heart worms before starting this treatment?

    If you haven't used heart worm treatments for a long period of time some vets recommend a test to make sure there is no infection.

    No you don't need extra heartworm protection as Stronghold is heartworm preventative too.

    Just read about Stronghold and what it says in your listing of parasites it covers. It says it Controls American Dog Tick, does this mean it kills them ??? Is it effective on other types of ticks (deer ticks, etc.) ??? Also, wondering why in the question section, someone asked if it killed ticks, and you answered NO ??? Another question asked how long does a treatment last, your answer was 30 days. In product description it says, for no less that 30 days???? I just want to find out for sure, so I can decide whether to try it or not. THANKS

    This product kills only American Dog Tick. It is not effective against any other type of ticks. So we can't sell / advertise it as tick protection. It doesn't loose its effectiveness within a few weeks like some other treatments so it protects your pet for whole month.

    I have used and like Stronghold before but never noticed the color difference. What is this "teal" "violet", etc?? I will be ordering for my 70 pound dog and 4 cats, but want to know if I am ordering correctly. Thanks for your help Mary Lynn

    Please take the weight brackets as reference. Stronghold teal is the right one for your 70 pound dog.
